Katy Perry to Release New Album “143” in September

Four years after her last studio album “Smile,” Katy Perry, 39, has announced the release of her sixth album titled “143” and provided the release date: September 20. On her official Instagram profile, the singer encourages her fans to pre-order the album through her website.

143 Represents “I Love You”

“143” is a code for “I love you” that was commonly used in messages sent via pagers in the early 1990s. “I embarked on creating a bold, exuberant, festive dance-pop album with the symbolic 143, the numerical expression of love, as a recurring message,” the American singer announced. Further details have yet to be disclosed.

The first single from the album, “Woman’s World,” will be unveiled on July 11. The corresponding music video will be launched a day later, as Perry announced in an Instagram post on June 17.

Finally, Time for New Music

After a four-year break from albums, the “I Kissed A Girl” hitmaker is returning with new music. Over the past few years, the singer has focused on her Las Vegas residency, her role as a judge on seven seasons of “American Idol” (the US version of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”), and her three-year-old daughter Daisy. Since 2016, Katy Perry, whose real name is Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, has been in a relationship with “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor Orlando Bloom, 47.
